Singer Nynke Laverman interviews a number of people who inspire her in the context of her new album and performance OAK. She does this together with radio and podcast maker Lex Bohlmeijer. From October 17, a new episode will be released every month that belongs to a track from the album OAK. Guests include writer David Van Reybrouck, anthropologist Jitske Kramer and singer/songwriter Stef Bos.
'When I meet someone else, I first meet myself.' Jitske Kramer, cultural anthropologist, has been fascinated from an early age by how differently people can look at the world, how that view is formed within a culture. In her latest book Tricky Times, she zooms in on what happens when a culture goes through a transformation, as is currently happening in our Western society: 'The big story we live, our collective narrative, is up for discussion; We have a midlife crisis with each other. In this narrative, we have focused on an unlimitedness (think of the internet, unlimited economic growth, AI) that is very complicated in a limited reality.' Nevertheless, we had a cheerful conversation about the 'betwixt and between', the soul, shamans, tricksters and what to do when you get lost.
