Love is not blind at all. Philosopher and teacher Katrien Schaubroeck wrote the book 'Iris Murdoch, a philosophy of love', which inspired Nynke greatly. She emphasizes that love is above all a way of looking, of looking truthfully.

About Katrien Schaubroeck

The Flemish Katrien Schaubroeck is a philosopher and senior lecturer at the University of Antwerp. She specializes in meta-ethics and moral psychology. In her book 'Iris Murdoch, a philosophy of love' she describes the phenomenon of love as a way of looking at the world. Those who look lovingly do not take themselves as the center of the world. That - often lifelong - process Schaubroeck calls 'detachment' and brings out the good in us.
